Lake George, NY – Last weekend Kristan and I drove to Lake George. This is a popular vacation spot with my family. Nearly every year my uncle Ernest camps at Hearthstone Point, uncle Alberto stays at a hotel and I stay somewhere in between. This year I splurged and got a lake front room at the Surfside Hotel.
Most of the weekend was spent at a camp site on Long Island, a small island on Lake George where people can either rent a site for the day or camp over night. My aunt and uncle brought a ton of snacks and food. We barbecued, swam and roasted marshmallows over the fire that my grandfather started with twigs. The fire was our only source of heat on this very cool Labor Day weekend. Most of the time we just lounged around and enjoyed the serenity of the lake. When she wasn’t trying to get us into the water, my little cousin played with a 1992 Gameboy Color that I gave her.
Overall, it was a really fun weekend. Even though I’ve visited the lake every year since I was little, it never seems to get old.
