Syracuse, NY — I parked in the 12 minute unloading zone. The overhang from Newhouse 2 sheltered me from afternoon rain. I ran inside and found out I was five minutes late. The computer lab with the Epson scanners was closed. I trudged back downstairs.
I ran to my car and accidentally stepped in a puddle. Even with them rolled up four times, my sweatpants still got wet.
Rush hour in Syracuse is a treat. It took me 10 minutes to travel .2 miles. When I finally turned onto Walnut Avenue I almost slammed into a parked car as I stared at a pair of short, well dressed college boys opening the trunk of a van. In the back was a wall of Keystone Light boxes stacked to the ceiling. Before I looked away I saw a box fall to the pavement.
I thought you were better than this, Syracuse. Keystone, in a mini-van? Sigh.
