Syracuse, NY — We got out of class early tonight because Professor Wasilewski was a bit under the weather. @doxtad, Paulo, Mr. Otero and I went to Faegans for some dinner. The chicken cheese steak was pretty epic (Ninja Dox, please pass this “epic” mention along to Zac, thanks).
I’ve been sitting here in my apartment, trying to set up this Google Wave thing, when I remember someone mentioning the 40 year anniversary Sesame Street just celebrated. I thought to myself, I wonder if Google changed their logo in celebration of the greatest TV show ever created?
Shazam.
This is what I saw when I visited Google.com:
The logo is dynamite. What’s even nicer is when you visit Google, no text appears around the logo until you roll over it with your mouse.
If you visit the Google Logos page, you can see all the cool changes made through the years. Here’s a list of some of my favorites:
- Oct 07, 2009 – Invention of the Bar Code
- Oct 25, 2002 - Happy Birthday Picasso
- Oct 02, 2009 – Mahatma Gandhi’s Birthday
- Mar 06, 2003 – Michelangelo’s Birthday
- Mar 26, 2008 – Parametron Computer
- Sep 23, 2004 - Ray Charles’ Birthday
- Nov 21, 2008 – René Magritte’s 110th Birthday
- Apr 15, 2005 – Leonardo Da Vinci’s Birthday
- Jan 04, 2006 – Louis Braille’s Birthday
This one reminded me of this Escher print my dad gave me. It’s hanging in the apartment. The logo is from June 16, 2003 and is called MC Escher’s Birthday:
Google is so darn creative.
