Syracuse, NY — These last couple of days have been particularly busy. I’ve been putting the finishing touches on my semester long research paper for COM 637-Historical Methods in Mass Media with Professor Flocke. My paper was on Robert Moses, New York City’s legendary planner. There’s been a lot of long nights, energy drinks and House M.D.
I’m watching “Last Resort” from season 5. In this episode, Wood Harris, the actor who played Avon Barksdale in “The Wire,” is a SWAT team member. Harris went from Baltimore drug lord to cop. Ironic, right?
Now that my battle with my research paper is over, I thought it appropriate to write about another battle I saw not too long ago. Zac, my friend and technical adviser, is an avid player of Warmachine, “a tabletop wargame produced by Privateer Press.” I got to see Zac in action a couple months ago. The delicately painted pieces and elaborate board designs are cool. The game itself is very involved (and a lot more complicated than Pokemon cards, my childhood addiction). Here are some pictures I took:

p.s. Zac, featureed in the second Polaroid, won that match.
