Moscow never sleeps

By in Arts, College life, Film, Sports

Syracuse, NY –A couple of months ago, five graduate students in Professor E. Davis’ NEW 508 – Newspaper Editing class started researching organizations or students interested in being involved in a student production. The project was in collaboration with Professor S. Davis’  NEW 205 class. Our subject was Maria Glukhova, a Russian swimmer at Syracuse graduating this semester. We wanted to tell her story.

My reporting team, Laura and Megan, worked very hard to collect hours of film at numerous locations. Even more time was spent editing the film with Final Cut (I got to hand it to the geniuses at Apple, what a great program).

Right now, the plan is to showcase the video on the University Web site this spring. In the meantime, feel free to check it out on this site.

The title of this post, “Moscow Never Sleeps,” is a catchy little jam from the mix-tape maniac, DJ Smash.

Fernando, what a wonderful! video it captured the essence of Moscow, the great architecture of the city illuminated to catch those nuances that are missed in many photos of the city. The video was very well constructed and the accompanying music was just the right tune for the pace of the show. Great job!
