Syracuse, NY – The news conference was in 10 minutes. Their reporter couldn’t make it so Steve Billmyer and Dan Padovano (editors) asked me to go. I grabbed my notebook and rushed down the stairs. Luckily, I only had to go across the street to the Atrium.
At the conference, representatives from SUNY Oswego and Cornell University Cooperative Extension took the stage with Rep. Dan Maffei to announce a $317,379 grant to help 120 unemployed veterans get back on their feet. There were plenty of cameras and reporters there, elbowing each other for space. They all wanted to interview Maffei and the other “celebrities,” I wanted to chat with the vets.
Check out Syracuse.com for the complete story.
You also need to check out the brand new S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications Web site. There is a picture of Paulo, Walker, Heather, @doxtad and me behind yellow caution tape. It was taken during the mock hostage situation we had to report on this summer. Does anyone know who shot this? Thanks Paulo.

p.s. I’ve been trying to finish this post for the last two hours. “Lost: The Final Season” is on. So much confusion. Check out this awesome interactive time line on the New York Times Web site. It’ll help make sense of things.
