Riley's

By in Animals, College life

Syracuse, NY — The small candle on the table flickered every time a waiter rushed by. The couple next to us laughed as they held goblets of wine. Above our table was a framed picture of dead fish and lobsters. @doxtad was talking about a gal he used to see. It didn’t last between them two because of her lack of intelligence. He remembered a conversation they had and, as he eloquently put it, “She’s talking about Flintstones vitamins, and I’m like, huh?”

This was Riley’s, a cozy restaurant on 312 Park St., Syracuse. Nestled in what looks like an old home, the restaurant featured a large bar, significant dining space and warm lighting (Christmas lights and pendant lamps). The place was packed but well worth the 15 minute wait.

Our waitress didn’t waste time with soliloquies or jokes. She was cordial and efficient. The hand drawn menu was updated regularly, almost guaranteeing something different every visit. I ordered the char grilled pork porterhouse and @doxtad got the char grilled 14 oz. black angus N.Y. strip steak. The porterhouse was choice. It was flavorful and tasty. The green beans and yams were nice complements. Here was last nights menu,

I really have nothing negative to say about this delightful dining establishment. You got more than you payed for. The atmosphere was chill, the service was tiptop and the food was outstanding. I give it five out of five dog hot dog’s.

    Dude,

Totally want to write some reviews for ECP!

One thing, though: plural for soliloquy is soliloquies.

Which brings me to my 2nd 30 Rock reference of the day to you, a paraphrase: “Some things are better alone… like… monologues.”
